Touring the 2018 PNE Prize Home – First Floor

Ever since I was a kid, I have viewed the PNE Prize Home almost every summer. The home has a special meaning to me, as it was an annual occasion I got to share with my family, in hopes of winning! Visiting is always exciting: new features, beautiful interior decorating, and different destination locations.

Viewing the home is a traditional summer event to local residents and I find it brings the community together.

Each year the house changes, but it’s easy to find something different to love. The 2018 home will be located in Naramata with a beautiful view of the Okanagan Lake.

In this series of blog posts, I will share with you some of the home’s most incredible features. Let’s take a tour room by room:

Entrance and Foyer

The foyer is a great opening to the home. Wow, it’s impressive! Beautiful light fixtures, a bright space, and light in colour scheme, which is refreshing. Right away, I noticed the high 9-foot ceilings throughout the lower level.

Best Buy Lounge

The lounge is a great opening to the home. I think it’s an excellent use of space – open layout, big windows, and furniture that is complimentary. Special features include ‘smart’ electronics such as video screen art frames – supplied by Best Buy. The Nest Security is super cool – the home has a viewing camera so you can see who is at your door, communicate with them, and download an app to receive a notification when your guest is at your door.

As I walk around the corner of the lounge, I see the wet bar with a built in wine display. Having family in the Okanagan, I know that this wine storage is perfect for the ‘Okanagan experience’.

Relaxation Room

Ok, this is cool. The home has a relaxation room perfect for anyone who wants to unwind, stretch, or do some yoga! It also includes a dry sauna and outdoor hot tub: awesome.

Virtual Tour

If  you want to take your own virtual tour around the home, check out this super cool feature on the PNE Prize Home website that allows you to walk around step by step viewing all the details.

Summer jobs are great – you get to make new friends and have a good time making money.

Are you currently looking for a fun and rewarding job? Do you like working with people? End your summer right with a job at the Fair at the PNE, the FUNNEST place to work! The PNE is looking to hire 1,000 people to fill a variety of roles.

Being employed here is not like ‘work’. “People are great, outgoing, and easy to make friends with,” says Stephanie in the Gaming Department. There are many other reasons why people enjoy it.

Some of our current employees shared why they like working at the PNE:

Maddy – Gaming (second year at the PNE)

Teneille – Gaming (fifth year at the PNE)

“Working at the PNE is a lot of fun – it’s like ‘game’ every day. The PNE is a good environment and I’ve made good friends over the years.”

Jennifer – Gaming (third year at the PNE)

“I enjoy working at the PNE because the environment is energetic, people who work here are positive, and I can make a kids day!”
