Ask any PNE Manager what the reaction is when they tell people they work at the PNE and they will all say the same thing… “Is that a part time job?” Or “Well, what do you do the rest of the year?” For the last 15 days of the summer, we are all working day and night at the Fair at the PNE, but make no mistake, this is absolutely a full time job.
Did you realize that while you are touring the PNE Prize Home, we are already making plans for the next one? Or that while you lose your lunch on Atmosfear our Playland Team is working behind the scenes to get ready for Fright Nights?
While The Fair certainly is the best part of summer, the PNE is constantly in full swing all year round. Between planning the next big event up to a year out, maintaining the 114+ acres of public parks and gardens and managing our seven on-site buildings, we’re busy hosting a variety of concerts, sporting and community events, tradeshows and private parties. In March alone you can enjoy the following events:
Seven-time GRAMMY award-winning trio Lady Antebellum will bring their headlining TAKE ME DOWNTOWN TOUR to the Pacific Coliseum on March 10, 2014.
An experience incomparable to any other as we take you through a journey of illusion and mystery as you dance the night away at the Pacific Coliseum on March 15, 2014.
A chance to witness the first ever Vancouver appearance of Asia’s most popular and influential rock groups in the Pacific Coliseum on March 17, 2014.
LEARN TO FISH
Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC Catch the fun and learn about fish identification, conservation, safety, proper fish handling, tackle, rod rigging, casting and an hour of hands on fishing!
ANNUAL MOTORCYCLE SWAP MEET
Come to the PNE Forum for your chance to buy, sell or swap all sorts of Motorcycle parts and accessories.
Calling the Pacific Coliseum home, the Vancouver Giants are playoff bound and ready to have you cheer them on.
And in amongst all of this, we are also getting ready to launch another exciting season in Playland complete with new Bumper Cars and before you know it we will all be enjoying those exciting fifteen days of the Fair at the PNE (which we are already knee deep in planning for).
So to answer your question…yes this is a full-time job. And while we are chatting…no, although it is an important job, I am not the one who makes cotton candy!
