Last Friday saw the return of the super popular Vancouver summer event: Playland Nights (19+).
Whether you are looking for a fun activity with friends or a cute date idea, Playland Nights is great way to celebrate at the end of the week.
This isn’t an ordinary night at the amusement park… There’s are DJs bumpin’ tunes, an axe-throwing challenge*, and multiple bars with hard lemonades, candy floss vodka martinis, and champagne cocktails!
This year’s event features 2 additional entertainment options: challenge your friends to a virtual reality racing game* or if sultry glamour is more your taste, then take in the talented performers at the Kitty Nights burlesque shows (4 shows nightly at 8, 9, 10, 11pm).
If you want to take the experience to the next level, grab a VIP Pass which gets you express park entry, allows you to skip the line (once) at ten different rides including the Beast and Wooden Roller Coaster, plus exclusive access to the VIP Bar!
Visit Playland Nights (19+) for more info or buy your tickets here before 5:00 on event days to save $3.
*an extra change applies for these attractions

This past weekend at the Pacific Coliseum we had the pleasure of hosting the Monster Jam – Triple Threat Series! We had 8 Monster Truck drivers competing in 3 different events for the Triple Threat title. The Monster Trucks that tore up the Pacific Coliseum were: Monster Mutt Dalmatian, Grave Digger, N.E.A, Mohawk Warrior, Scooby-Doo, Max-D, El Toro Loco and Zombie!
In preparation for Monster Jam we had over 100 dump truck loads of soil loaded into the Pacific Coliseum. A total of 1200 cubic meters of soil, weighing a massive 1800 tons was needed to cover and protect the Coliseum floor. 1 Excavator, 1 Bull-dozer, 1 Front end loader and 2 bobcats were used to move the soil and build the jumps for this amazing event! Check out the time-lapse video below of the soil being loaded into the Coliseum!
Prior to the 1:00pm show on Saturday, guests were invited to come see the trucks and meet the drivers during the Pit Pass Party! We had over 2500 people attend the Pit Pass Party which made it one of the largest arena Pit Pass Party events! Take a look at the Pit Pass Party time-lapse video below!
Life is hectic. Make that beyond hectic. And each year, parents are put in the tough spot of coming up with a unique birthday party idea to celebrate with friends and family. Since we get to spend so much time with the parents who bring their children to Playland each summer, we thought we could give you a hand planning your child’s next birthday party.
1) Plan ahead: organize decorations, food, a cake and everything else that comes along with parties early and give yourself lots of time to get organized – the end result will be much less stressful and hopefully fun!
2) Keep everyone busy: your main goal is to keep everyone happy and comfortable, which can be better achieved if everyone is kept busy. Food and entertainment are perfect for keeping kids happy and engaged.
3) Have fun yourself: plan your child’s party so that you and other parents can have a good time, too. Just because it’s meant for kids, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t enjoy yourself!
With these tips in mind, your next party at the community pool, park or bowling alley can be fun and stress free. Did you know that we can host birthday parties and other celebrations at Playland? For a price that’s cheaper than general admission to the park, we’ll provide lunch with reserved seating and hold all of your presents (and don’t forget the cake!) so that you, your kids and their friends can have a blast running around Playland all day. Our Group Sales team is ready to make your next party a hit, so give us a shout if you’d like to book an event.
